CPL Standings: Which team won the most in CPL?

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL), an annual franchise T20 cricket tournament in the West Indies, is set to launch its 11th season on August 16. The tournament will culminate with the final match on August 24. Throughout its existence, the CPL has provided a platform for emerging talents to shine and transition to larger arenas.

Remarkably, the 2022 season witnessed the Jamaica Tallawahs staging an impressive resurgence after a lackluster 2021 performance. They secured the championship by defeating the Barbados Royals in the final. The reigning champions aim to sustain their momentum, clinch the top spot in the CPL Points Table, and defend their title in the forthcoming season.

Trinbago Knight Riders have notably claimed the coveted championship four times, a record in CPL history. Following closely are the Jamaica Tallawahs with three victories. Interestingly, the Guyana Amazon Warriors have reached the final five times but have faced defeat on all occasions.

The 2023 Caribbean Premier League commenced on August 17, with the defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs triumphing over Saint Lucia Kings by 11 runs in the opening match at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia. The 11th edition, organized by Cricket West Indies, involves six teams competing in 34 T20 matches spanning 40 days.

In addition to the Jamaica Tallawahs and Saint Lucia Kings, the Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and Trinbago Knight Riders will contend for the CPL 2023 title. The tournament’s schedule entails each team facing others twice in a double round-robin format. The top four teams following these league matches will advance to the CPL 2023 playoffs.

The third and fourth-ranked teams will engage in the Eliminator match, while the top two teams will clash in Qualifier 1 to secure their spot in the final. The victor of the Eliminator will subsequently challenge the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 for the remaining place in the CPL 2023 final.

The ultimate showdown of the Caribbean Premier League 2023 is slated for September 25 at Guyana’s Providence Stadium. The Jamaica Tallawahs secured their third CPL title by defeating the Barbados Royals by eight wickets in the 2022 final.

Trinbago Knight Riders hold the most illustrious record in CPL history with four titles. The Barbados Tridents (now Barbados Royals) have claimed the championship twice, while the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have clinched the title once.
